I’m Not Dead Yet!

M&A deals have more than one life.  Just when you think they’re dead, they’re not.

In fact, I joke with my clients and colleagues about it.  I was working with one client recently, trying to buy a company located overseas.  The CEO was worried because we just hit another obstacle.  He thought the deal was dead.  I told him, “Don’t worry, this deal has only died twice.  It has at least 3 more deaths before it’s really dead.”

Turns out I was right and we got the deal done.

Deal Resurrection

In M&A everything is amplified.  Because of that, obstacles may seem like deal breakers and the deal dies.  But it doesn’t have to.  You have to have faith and confidence.

The reality is that there are so many issues involved in any M&A deal that there is generally a way to work around most obstacles.  That’s when you get Deal Resurrection.

Take the drama out of M&A, realize that there can be more than one death in any deal, and make your deal a great one.
